The Care Champions Programme is a designed for individuals who aspire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults with diverse health and care needs. This tailored training programme provides participants with the knowledge, practical skills and accredited qualifications needed to progress into employment within the health and social care sector.

Care Champions Programme

Whether you are looking to begin a new career, improve your confidence or gain valuable qualifications, this programme offers a supportive pathway into the care industry while helping you develop transferable workplace skills.

This programme will be delivered over 6 weeks, running every Friday 9:30am-4:30pm

Please note: some accredited courses may require an earlier start or finish time. Please speak to the Train-to-Gain Officer before committing to the full course to ensure you are able to attend every week.

Course Topics

Inductions & Team Building
Build confidence, meet other participants and develop teamwork and communication skills in a supportive environment.

Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene
Gain essential knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards within care and workplace settings.

Level 2 Occupational Health & Safety
Develop an understanding of workplace health and safety responsibilities and safe working practices.

Level 2 Safeguarding Children, Young People & Adults at Risk
Learn how to recognise safeguarding concerns and understand procedures to help protect vulnerable individuals.

Level 2 Understanding Mental Health in the Workplace
Explore the importance of mental health awareness, wellbeing and supportive workplace practices.

Level 3 Combined Emergency First Aid
Develop practical first aid skills and gain confidence responding to emergency situations involving adults and children.
