Welcome
Brandwood Centre is a facility which caters for all needs of the community by providing a local venue that delivers a range of different services, such as social activities, benefits advice and debt information ,we are also a venue that delivers training courses. The centre is a one stop shop that will cater for all needs and requests.
The Brandwood Centre is a ‘First-Step’ centre run by community volunteers, supported by the local authority, private and other agencies to deliver a multifunction community facility which fulfil the role of a ‘one-stop’ shop. It is also a venue for the establishment and delivery of community activities.
In March 2005 a public meeting was arranged to look at what local people wanted from their community. It became apparent that local people wanted a focal point in the community to help improve community spirit and quality of life for residents. The Brandwood Centre was originally a Neighbourhood office but Birmingham City council relocated and the building stood empty.
This gave us an opportunity to develop the Brandwood Community Centre. Our building is situated in the Kings Heath area (Brandwood Ward) of South-West Birmingham, in the West Midlands. From this meeting a committee was formed and a Centre Manager was appointed to look at developing the Centre.
